Jagannath Rath Yatra Package

Sway to the Rhythms of Lord Jagannath’s Magnanimity

Situated on the coastline of Odisha, Puri is one of the oldest cities of India and is known around the world as the abode of highly revered Lord Jagannath. The Jagannath Temple, one of the Char Dhams, is perennially full of devotees from all across the globe. Not only as a pilgrimage center but also a popular beach destination, Puri is vacationer’s delight. The magnificent sand beaches, superb resorts, the marine drive amidst nature’s bounty and nearby attractions also make it an inviting tourist destination. The beach & the tides are considered to be any surfer’s delight. Above all, it is the magnificence of Lord Jagannath that is the life-line of this place. As a manifestation of beliefs, the rituals and festivals of Lord Jagannath are occasions of great religious experience and devotional fervor. The most popular festival is the Rath Yatra / Car festival, which attracts millions of people to this place every year in the month of June-July. Rath Yatra is observed on Ashadha Shukla Paksha Dwitiya (in the months of June-July every year, on the 2nd day of the bright fortnight), ever since the 10th-11th century. This festival observes Shree Jagannath's, once in a year, visit to his aunt’s home - Gundicha Temple. All three deities, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra (his elder brother) and Goddess Subhadra (his younger sister), go to the Gundicha Temple in their richly decorated chariots/ rath. The raths are astoundingly made to resembling temple structures and are pulled through the streets of Puri. Rath Yatra day is the only day when the Idols come out of the temple premises and non-Hindu devotees and foreigners can get their glimpse of the deities. Devotees from far & near reach Puri with a deep desire to the Lords' chariots. Considered to be an auspicious deed, people do not mind the huge crowd or the risks associated. The grand processions by the devotees, along with the chariots, playing devotional songs, performing temple dance forms and more. The entire procession is euphoric and no other religious procession can be compared to this. Max Holidays ensures to make your trip to Puri Rath Yatra a memorable one. Comfortable travel, stay, visits and sightseeing is a challenge during this phase. Nevertheless, Max Holiday experts make it for their guests.
