An insight into East India Tourism

The Eastern region of India is a kaleidoscope of stunning natural scenery.

A thriving cultural past, stunning architecture, and friendly people. There are gorgeous Eastern Ghats, lush meadows, and evergreen forests in this region of the Indian subcontinent. The oldest institution in the world, Nalanda University, is located in Bihar. As the location of Lord Buddha's nirvana, the City of Buddha in Bihar is one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage destinations.

Numerous travelers are drawn to a place by its rich cultural legacy. Eastern India tourism is one of the most famous and popular travel destinations in India because of its wonderful heritage monuments. From stunning coastal coastlines to the mysterious heights of the Himalayan Mountains, its expansive and diverse geography allows you to experience just about anything. India's culture is something you should encounter at least once in your life because of the welcoming locals, delectable cuisine, and breathtaking sights.

Visit East India from the month of October through mid-May with our East India tour guide because this time is ideal for traveling to the East. Although there may be a few rain drops here and there, this is the dry season. The region's temperature changes significantly depending on altitude due to its diverse geology. The summer temperature in the hilly areas remains around 15 to 20 degrees, while it can go to subzero during winter.

With torrential downpours in most regions, the monsoon in East India may be fairly severe. The monsoon runs from June to September and corresponds to the summer season.

Regarding places to visit in East India, the beauty of nature in India's eastern regions has become increasingly popular as ecotourism has taken off. While one of India's few deep evergreen forests is found in Jharkhand, the state of Odisha is adorned by the beautiful green Eastern Ghats. A trip to the eastern region of India makes you feel more at peace inside. The Himalayan mountain range that forms the backdrop of West Bengal is breathtaking. West Bengal became India's second-largest producer of tea after the first tea garden there was planted in 1857. A lesser-known but very beautiful travel destination is Bihar's ecotourism. The area is gifted with unusual natural beauty from Telhar Kund to Barabar Caves.

Eastern India is one of the most popular travel destinations in India because of its wonderful heritage monuments. Bihar is rich in history, from the well-known Mahabodhi Temple, where Lord Buddha obtained enlightenment, to the ancient city of Nalanda. The Maluti clay temples in Jharkhand evoke memories of a bygone era. Not to be overlooked is the renowned Konark Temple in Odisha, which has been inducted into the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Odisha is referred to as the "Temple City of India" since it is home to almost 500 historic temples. The snow-covered Kanchenjunga serves as the backdrop as the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in West Bengal travels through picturesque valleys and tea gardens.

India is a country with a diverse religious and spiritual culture. India's eastern region makes a significant contribution to the country's pilgrimage tourism industry. The most frequented temple in West Bengal is the well-known Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Visitors to this centre of worship, dedicated to Goddess Kali, come to make amends and ask the Almighty for favours. The Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand, is one of the most significant religious sites for Hindus. It is one of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas. One of the 51 Siddha Shakti Pithas, the historic Patan Devi Temple, is famous for being in Bihar. For Sikhs, Takht Sri Patna Sahib is a significant place of worship. East India tourist attractions are enriched with glorious and marvelous beauty to explore, and some of them are mentioned in this East India travel guide.

If you wish to visit this paradise, there are various ways to access the place, as mentioned in our East India travel guide.

Kolkata has an international airport. The cities are connected by trains, so getting to Kolkata and other cities from Delhi or any other area of India shouldn't be an issue. There are several land access sites in India from Bangladesh. The most frequent route uses the Haridispur (India)/Benapole (Bangladesh) border crossing and involves frequent, air-conditioned, and luxurious bus services from Dhaka to Calcutta/Kolkata.

Another daily bus service from Dhaka to Siliguri is provided by "Shyamoli" and other bus companies operating under the BRTC banner. However, the buses on this route do not pass through the Changrabanda/Burimari or Burungamari border posts.

The food in this region is simple, even though East India has three schools of cuisine—Bengali and Assam, the Northeastern states, and then Orissa. The majority of the ingredients are simple, and neither is the preparation. The two most common cooking techniques are steaming and frying. Fish is preferred as a diet in coastal areas, while hog is preferred further inland. No other region of Indians can match the love of desserts and sweets that the Eastern Indians have. The recipes from these locations are less spicy than those from their bordering regions, allowing the primary components to really stand out. As a result of the warm environment and thick forest in the coastal area, there is a wide range of fresh fish to choose from.

Momos (steamed wontons with meat or vegetables inside) and Thukpa are two popular dishes (a clear soup). On menus, you're also likely to see items like Tomato Achaar (tomato pickle), Machcher Jhol (fish curry), and Jhaal-Muri (a hot snack made with puffed rice and mustard oil).

Dance, music, and art contribute to East India's rich culture. The artistic diaspora of the region has left a spellbinding legacy on people worldwide, from Sambalpuri dance to Rabindra Sangeet and Madhubani paintings. Explore the beauty of eastern India with the East India travel guide.
