Varanasi once known as Banaras and Kashi, is a one of world’s oldest dwelling city in India. The Man Mandir Ghat, which has a large palace built in 1600on the bank, is a must see place. The Mughal architecture influenced Ramnagar Fort here, was the palace of the Maharaja of Varanasi. This is museum at present and will surely keep you involved with it relics. Around 10 - 11km from Varanasi is Sarnath, the place where Gautam Buddha delivered his first sermon post enlightenment. Do see the Dhamekh Stupa here which features ancient temples workmanship of the past.
