Uttar Pradesh- An Array Of Historical Tales

Ever heard about the ‘Heartland of India’? Yes, it is none other than one of the most beautiful places- Uttar Pradesh. I enjoyed each and every bit of the moments I spent during the Uttar Pradesh tour, and also I was so engrossed in the history and culture of Uttar Pradesh that I was in no mood of returning to my place. Offering a variety of feasts to my mind- this place is no less than an utmost satisfaction for each and every roamer here. Well, according to me the state is a really an apt amalgamation of every aspect that is responsible for making a region better than the others. Containing the nature as well as some of the best man-made structures in an agreeable ratio Uttar Pradesh is a heartthrob.

Being a history-buff, it was very necessary for me to dive deeper into the historical relevance of this place and when I did the same- I came out with abundant information about the best and the most favoured cities in Uttar Pradesh along with the historical tales associated with them. I have brought up a list of the best places for you to visit whenever you are present in this splendid destination. Also, it is highly recommended for you to have a clear view of the majestic tales belonging to these cities.

1. AGRA

Have been to Agra and I am still not done with the memories accumulated while being on a journey here. As notified, Agra is in a condition of overtaking the capital city Lucknow. Sounding odd, right? But, this is undoubtedly true! Continually acting as a sheath to one of the Seven Wonders of the World- Taj Mahal, this place is now the most favoured one whenever Uttar Pradesh is being talked about. Mentioning the Mughal Period, this city has been considered as an indispensable part since then. The hub is not only known for Taj Mahal but also for the Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Buland Darwaza and also Chini Ka Rauza. Due to the high prominence of the Mughal Era, you shall undoubtedly witness this place in each and every globetrotter’s bucket list. The King of Sultanate Sultan Sikander Lodhi founded the Agra City and after being defeated by Babur, his throne was taken over by him and then the place was later looked upon by Babur. As per my views, Agra can be recognized as the birthplace of the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites which are the Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and also the Agra Fort. Inculcating approximately more than 180 tourist’s destinations, this city is highly a promising one in case you are looking out for a fun packed vacation. I have always heard about the majorly favoured sweet dish in Agra i.e. the Petha and yes, surely I tried some and you know what? It is my favourite now and I have already brought 5 packets of the same for the friends and family.

2.Varanasi

Rightly said by Mark Twain, ‘Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together’. The city carries a highly historical as well as a very impressive spiritual relevance with its recognition to the mankind as the ‘existence of human race’. Dotted with abundant Hindu temples, the highly pious river Ganges is stealing the attention of each and every human here and thus, my days in Varanasi always commenced with a serenity filled morning walk accompanied with an immensely beautiful view of the sunrise. Mentioning my favourite phase of expedition here- it was none the highly beguiling boat ride stretching right from the Dasaswamedha Ghat to Manikarnika Ghat.  After reaching the Manikarnika Ghat, I stepped out of the boat as it was the time for a 45 minutes’ walk through the narrow lanes of Varanasi. As told by my guide, Varanasi is known to be holding a highly pristine and symbolic status right from the flagging off of the Hinduism’s historical relevance. Also, it has been witnessed as the holiest city amongst all others prevalent in India with its initial name being ‘Kashi’ meaning brightness. The most unique thing Max Holidays facilitated was an ultimate visit to Akhada. The bodybuilders and other participants in the Desi Wrestling was just a really antique experience for me while being here. While being here, you can shop for the varied perfumes, muslin and silk fabrics, sculptures as well as the ivory works as these are the responsible for making Varanasi- a tourist’s most favoured hub.

3.MATHURA

The birthplace of Lord Krishna with some of the most important traces from his life, Mathura is a non- detachable spot from the tourism of Uttar Pradesh. The city is marked amongst the 7 most important and the holiest places for the ardent followers of Hinduism as it is also an inculcation of abundant temples carrying a high historical relevance. Right before the prominence and the uprising of Hinduism here- Mathura was a home to Buddhism containing an array of more than 20 monasteries. When I visit the pious city of Mathura, I was really stunned to see the way the devotees have preserved the traces of Lord Krishna which are clearly depicting some of the instances from his life. I had the glimpses of Sri Krishna Janmasthan, Krishna Janmabhoomi Mandir, Banke Bihari Temple, Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple Complex, Dwarkadhish Temple, Radha Damodar Temple, Govardhan Hill, Barsana Shri Radha Rani Temple, Rangji Temple along with abundant others. Not even the Indians and the Hindus, but I even witnessed a good number of foreigners who were just engrossed deeply into the serenity and divinity of Lord Krishna. The devotees were crying and dancing like no one’s watching and this kind of devotion made me really happy.

So, the above three cities listed by me are just the best. However, while being in Uttar Pradesh you can have a look at the other cities which are also a true epitome of beauty, spirituality, culture, serenity and vibrancy. I think I have now made your decision quite easier now. What are you waiting for? Go and experience the tranquillity of this place and feel like never before.
