Delhi- More Than Just A Capital

Turning me into a Storyteller and simultaneously leaving me speechless- this is what Delhi tour has always left me with. India’s capital city and seat to the Indian Government, I think Delhi is not worthy of being merely considered as a capital. My continual visits to this ravishing place have always given me a reason to witness the beauty here yet again. To be true, I am not able to get over this destination. A historical city with each and every heritage associated with an array of fascinating and bygone tales reminding every globetrotter about the eternal love of the Mughals for the buildings, you just can’t let the elegance of Delhi step out of your mind once you are here.

The amount of good feeling I had here can’t just be described in a handful of words and thus, the list is endless. Whenever I have been to Delhi- I was always indulged in the sightseeing that was way too common. But this year, something new and exciting struck my mind. How about walking past some offbeat destinations? According to me, travelling is not about counting the sites you have been to but counting the experiences you have come across.

Now I can wait no longer to share some of the phases from my unique journey to Delhi that is undoubtedly more than just a capital. All of these hubs were suggested by Max Holidays and I am now finally satisfied by my expedition as this year proved to be something very different for me. Here are the top 10 places I have been to while being in Delhi and it is highly recommended for you to give these a try!

AGRASEN KI BAOLI

This is none other than a step well that is located in the heart of the capital city- Connaught Place. It was used as a place to store the water during the bygone era and is considered to be the best since it is easily accessible due to its location.

NATIONAL CRAFTS MUSEUM

A highly serene old age museum inculcating some of the best handcrafted masterpieces, the National Crafts Museum is situated in Pragati Maidan. The place has a rural essence and you shall also witness many artists indulged in the formulation of the paintings here.

NEHRU PLANETARIUM

Carrying an impressive aura, the Nehru Planetarium is one of the most fascinating places in Delhi. With the Sky Theatre acting as the most favoured one in this planetarium - you can see the whole information about the constellations, stars and the planets.

OLD DELHI HERITAGE WALK

While talking about the Old Delhi Heritage Walk, the first thing that comes to my mind is the amazing ‘Rickshaw Ride’. Passing through the Grandeur of Shahjahanabad, Jama Masjid, and Digambar Jain Naya Mandir along with many others and also the most famous Khari Baoli market for Spices.

NATIONAL GANDHI MUSEUM

The National Gandhi Museum is an apt showcase of the varied life and the principles of the Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi. The place is a fusion of the majestic Library (more than 35,000 books), Gallery and also the Special Exhibitions which are facilitated for the visitors here.

SEGWAY TOUR OF DELHI

Well, this was a very antique and a brand new experience for me. You will be given a Segway and then the tour shall cover the varied sights in Delhi while passing through the heart of the capital city. You will be provided the utmost safety by the facilitation of safety equipment.

Again one of my favourite moments here. The Salaam Balak Tour is already added to my bucket list whenever I am going to get a chance of re- visiting Delhi. The Salaam Balak Trust works with the sole intention of providing the finest care to the working children and the ones living on streets. You can spend time with the children here while having a city walk.

 INDIRA GANDHI MEMORIAL

The Indira Gandhi Memorial once served as a home to the former Prime Minister of India- Indira Gandhi and later the place was transformed into a beautiful and a historical museum. You can see the photographs from the Nationalist Movement and other tales associated with her childhood and the Nehru Family.

COOKING CLASSES

I never imagined that I would be learning the art of cooking in Delhi. The Gourmet Desire facilitated me with the super amazing cooking classes along with a spice market tour. A golden opportunity to witness the cultural heritage and the highly delectable culinary experience is what I attained here.

AKSHARDHAM LIGHT AND SOUND SHOW

The vibrancy and the highly colourful environment that is made by the light and sound show in the most beautiful Akshardham Temple is worth a visit. The jaw dropping beauty and the highly organized lighting and sound system is the most favoured thing in my case. Thus, this breathtaking show is the key attraction here.

In short, I had a wonderful trip. Delhi is not just a place to explore the common forts and monuments but it is really a hub to get some of the most unexpected beauties buried and hidden deep in some of the unexplored regions here.
