More than 150 permanent monks reside in the monastery, situated on the Srinagar-Leh highway, 5 kilometers east of Fotu La, at around 11,520 ft (3,511.3 m). The next item on the list is through the lower Shyam Valley to Alchi Monastery. This Buddhist monastery is a monastic complex situated in Alchi village. The Alchi Gompas is also a part of three villages that constitute the Alchi group of monuments, renowned for its design. After that, we will visit the Basgo Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It includes three temples: Chamchung, Chamba Lhakhang, and Serzang Temple. All of these sanctuaries are dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha. We are in contact with Max Holidays for the last 17 years and have done many trips with them. They are one of the most professional set of tour operators, working under a good system in their office. The team is awesome as they are capable of dealing with almost every situation. Not only Rajasthan, Ladakh, Sikkim but we also travelled with them to Mt. Kailash in 2018 where we felt their strength to perform in adverse conditions. Hats off to their efforts and kudos to the team of the Company.
