It is a mesmerizing rural stretch extending from Sikkim in the Himalayan South to the coast of Bay of Bengal. Kolkata the former capital of colonial India is the largest city of the eastern Indian. Center of learning and home to intellectual city by the Bay and Bengal and thriving on the waves of river Hooghly, the city also has some of the best architectural marvels of in Victorian style.
Another attraction of the east is temple cities of Puri of Lord Jagannath and Bhubaneswar both located in the state of Orissa. However, the mention of north-east is incomplete without speaking of seven states which are collectively known as to be the states of ‘the seven sisters’. The region is a great bless for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The entire area is geographically is made of mountains, hills, rainforests, river, jungles. Amazingly, the region has the maximum number and the highest of biodiversity to be found anywhere in the world. The seven states of north east include Assam, Arunanchal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram.
Day 01 : Arrive Fly Bagdogra to Darjeeling
Upon arrival in Delhi or Kolkata take a connecting flight to Bagdogra. Upon arrival at Bagdogra, we drive to Darjeeling. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at your hotel
Day 02 : Darjeeling
Proceed for sightseeing tour of Darjeeling visit Tiger Hill - A strategic point to watch the spectacular sunrise. It offers a magnificent view of the rising sun over the snow - capped Mt. Kanchenjunga and other great Eastern Himalayan peaks. Also visit Himalayan mountaineering Institute and Ghoom Monastery at an altitude of 2407 meters.
Day 03 : Darjeeling to Kalimpong
Today we drive to Kalimpong. Later visit Durpin Dara the highest point in Kalimpong where you can see the meandering Teesta River and the plains. Visit Thongsha Gumpha Bhutanese monastery built in 1630 A.D and is the oldest of the region. Also visit the Kalimpong Market where you can see the villagers in their local costumes selling their farm products. Overnight at Kalimpong
Day 04 : Kalimpong to Pemyangtse
After breakfast we drive down to Pemyangtse. This second oldest monastery in the state built in 1705 is the main center of the Nyingamapa sect, a tantrik sect of Buddhism. The sect is also known as ‘Red Hat’ because its followers wear red hats rather than the yellow hat worn by the monks in other monasteries.
Day 05 : Pemyangtse to Gangtok
Drive down to Gangtok enroute visit Rumtek monastery. The ancient Rumtek Monastery was built in1717 A.D. but did not survive for long and it was rebuilt in again in the year in 1960 by Gyalwa Karmapa and followed the architectural designs in Tibet from where the Karmapa had come. Overnight at Gangtok
Day 06 : Gangtok
Today enjoy sightseeing of Gangtok visit Do Drul Chorten one of the most important Stupa of Sikkim built in 1945. Enchey monastery is another place which is to be visited. Later visit Tashi Ling to have an outstanding view of Kanchenjunga.
Day 07 : Gangtok to Bagdogra
Today after breakfast we will transfer to Bagdogra airport for your flight to Delhi /Kolkata to connect your flight to onward destination.
