The architecture of the state is consisted three different era of history. The first is the modern architecture resulted from Jainism being the primary religion of the state. Second is Hindu architecture that thrived between the era of 11th and 13th centuries. The plan of Hindu architecture primarily is consisted of closed pillared hall, octagonal in shape, preceding a square hall surmounted by a sikhara. In the morning visit Elephanta Island approximately 10 kms away from Mumbai land, the Elephanta Island Caves is of temples carved from rock which is date back from 6th & 7th century. After breakfast drive to Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad is situated adjacent to the banks of Sabarmati River and one of the largest cities in Gujarat. Later visit Kankaria Lake one of the biggest artificial lake in Ahmedabad. Dada Hari Vav (stepped well) was built in 1501 during the kingdom of Mehmud Begda. After breakfast proceed for the walking tour to see the havelis of Ahmedabad. Later drive to Palitana. En-route visit Lothal, about 85 kilometres located at southwest Ahmedabad. Lothal is one of the ancient town which is full of Indus Valley Civilization and located close to the Sabarmati River on the west side of the Gulf of Khambhat. A museum is reserved with archaeological results which offer an insight into the Indus Valley period. The Indus Valley Civilization at Lothal was a center of attention for the Indus valley civilization when it moved down from Sindh to the Saurashtra coast to establish trading zones. Lothal and Rangpur, are the first 2 locations where the Indus valley civilization was discovered in India and both approximately 75 kilometers from Ahmedabad. Later continue drive to Palitana. After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Palitana. Palitana is one of the religious Jain city. It is situated approximately 85 kilometers south-west of Bhavnagar city and one of the major pilgrimage center of Jains and famous for its spectacular temple sites. Visit the Jain temple complex atop of Shatrunjaya Hill over Palitana. The complex houses about 860 temples on a summit sacred to Jains. Later drive to Diu. Upon arrival transfer hotel and check-in. Afternoon visit the 16th century Portuguese Fort is situated on the west coast of India in Diu, a Union Territory, directed by the Government of India. Portuguese built this fort during their majestic rule of the Diu Island. The town is situated to the west of the fort. Later visit 17th century churches. The St. Paul’s Church, Diu, is located in Diu Island, It is Situated within the Diu Fort, which came under the rule of the Portuguese colonists in early 16th century. The Church’s, named after St Paul, the follower of Jesus also known as the follower to the Gentiles, is most famous, present and operational church, among the three churches built by the Portugese in Diu. After breakfast, drive to Gir. En-route visit Somnath to see the temples. Somnath Temple is situated in the near Veraval in Saurashtra.
