Experience the Natural Beauty of Kerala at Its Best

Situated in southern India on the Malabar Coast, Kerala is a state of utmost beauty, fun and flavour. One of its biggest attractions is backwaters. The backwaters of Kerala, a network of 1500 km of canals, were once a major means of transportation connecting every corner of the state to another. Today, these backwaters cruises have gained immense popularity as a major tourist destination for travellers from different parts of the globe. You many find plenty of beaches in India, but backwaters are something that add uniqueness to the state. A Kerala backwater cruise is the perfect way of exploring the natural beauty of the state, its cities and towns. The backwaters are comprised of multiple canals, rivers, lakes and estuaries.

Houseboats (kettuvallams) are available to sail across the Kerala backwaters. During your cruise through the backwaters, you'll come across such picturesque towns as Kollam, Kozhikode and Alappuzha. Depending on your specific requirements, you can choose to go on a Kerala backwater cruise for one or several days. If you opt for a multiple-day cruise, you'll be accompanied by a navigator and a cook in the houseboat that you hire. You'll have the pleasure of enjoying a wide range of traditional cuisines of Kerala prepared from freshly picked vegetables.

If the Kerala backwaters is a crown, the Ashtamudi Lake is its most precious jewel. While cruising along the backwaters, exploring the beauty on and around this beautiful lake is an unforgettable experience. The lake is quite well-known for its endangered marine species. An overnight stay in a luxurious houseboat at this lake will prove to be a great stress-busting experience. The Vembanad Lake is another major attraction in the backwaters of the state. Apart from hiring houseboats, you can also hire yachts to enhance your cruise experience.
