Max Holidays will take you to some famous places in Kathmandu Valley en route to Saga Dawa in Kailash. We will make you visit the Doleshwar Mahadev Temple, the head of Lord Kedarnath situated in Uttarakhand. The next stoppage will be Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a heritage site in Kathmandu, wrapping up our trip back to the hotel for some much needed rest.

The next stop in your Kailash Yatra with the Saga Dawa Festival is Lhasa. We will fly down to Lhasa, a scenic town in Tibet from Tribhuvan International Airport. Once you arrive at the airport, we will safely drive you to your hotel. Situated at a high altitude, it will take you some time to acclimatise yourself for the rest of your trip. So, it's best for you to rest well for the day and keep yourself hydrated at all times.

We will drive to Shigatse en route to Gyantse, the heart of Tsang. Historically, Gyantse was hailed for being the largest region in Tibet. Known for its restored fort, this city holds a story from the past. After that, we will take you to the Tashi Lunhpo Monastery, which was established in 1447, and since then, it has been the Headquarter of the Panchen Lama.
Our next stop will be Maitreya Temple, built by King Tragspa Bumde, followed by other renowned monasteries. Next, you will witness the serene and clear blue water of Yamdrok Lake, surrounded by the astounding snow-capped mountains. As per folklore, this lake was created after a goddess transformed herself into a lake.

At an altitude of over 5000 metres, you will witness breathtaking beauty. Driving through Tibet's mountainous and sandy terrain, you will encounter a picturesque view of nomadic life and large herds of Yak and sheep.
By the late afternoon, you will reach the banks of the Brahmaputra, a majestic river that winds its way through the land. We will then stop by the City Sag, “The Happy Land," at the juncture of Brahamputra to enjoy a fusion of Tibetan and Chinese cultures. You can enjoy scrumptious foods like tsampa with butter tea in the evening.

Your morning at Saga will begin with a hot sip of coffee as we plan to take you to the next destination in the course of Saga Dawa in Kailash. We will drive to the Mansarovar lake via Paryang, a beautiful township, stretched in the fields.
Lake Mansarovar, which also goes by Mapam Yumtso, is sustained by the Kailash Glaciers, atop Mount Kailash. The bay and Mount Kailash to the north constitute holy sites in many religions including Hinduism and Buddhism.
The sacred lake is believed to be the divine abode where Lord Vishnu finds solace. It is enveloped by the presence of Mt. Gurula-Mandata and the mystical Lake Rakshasa. The locals believe that the lake has poisonous water as it was created by the evil king Ravana. You will spend the night in a guest house around the Mansarovar Lake.

You will witness the purest form of devotion by indulging in puja at the Mansarovar lake. After your parikrama, which is a 110-kilometre journey in a Jeep, we will take you to Darchen, around 40 kilometres away from Mansarovar.
You can also visit many nearby attractions like Tholing Forest, Guge Kingdom, Tirthapuri Monastery, Chiu Monastery, and Zanda Clay Forest to name a few. An hour’s drive from here is a scenic village in the the valley of Mt. Kailash, Darchen. You will get to stay here for a good night's sleep.
The Saga Dawa festival in Tibet will come closer with the 3-day parikrama journey to Darchen, Yamadwar, and Drirapuk. We will begin our day by driving to Darboche, a gateway to the steel valley of Kailash Kora. Mount Kailash Kora is known to be one of the toughest and most challenging treks in Tibet, with altitudes surpassing 5,600 metres, making altitude sickness a real concern.
The Kailash Kora is also referred to as the Canyon of the Deities. Yamadwar, the entrance of the Deity of the Demise, is situated in Tarboche. From there, we will walk to our abode at Drirapuk and rest for the day.
This will be the most adventurous day of your trip. Here we will first take you to the village of Jarok Donkhang, where you can enjoy savoury Chanthuk (Tibetan pata) with some dry fruits at Café Choglasmar. Then we will begin trekking towards the Shiva stal, where we will step downhill to catch a view of the Lam-chu-khi River. There, we will visit GauriKund.
After that, we will take a trip to Juthulpuk. Zruthulpuk Cave, also known as ‘the miracle cave, is an illustrious establishment that traces its origins back to the 13th century, when its foundation was laid. The resplendent structure that stands today proudly showcases its architectural magnificence, as it was meticulously crafted in the year 1983. You will also witness the divine Buddha footprint along the way.
Once you have collected all the beautiful memories and spiritual experience from the Saga Dawa Festival, we will take our ride back from Darchen to saga.

We took the tour from 26Aug to Sept4. It was a wonderful experience.we were 10 in our tour and everyone came with different spiritual backgrounds. It was a full moon trip. Max holidays provided excellent service. They checked out oxygen levels and provided support when needed. Accommodations are shared and are reasonably good. Services such as porter can be improved but it is on the Tibet side. Food was provided by on site cooks who travelled with the group. Schedule changes could have been communicated better. Vidushi was excellent. Overall out trip was excellent.
