On your Palace on Wheels luxury train journey, your first stop is Jaipur which is also known as ‘Pink city’ for its pink coloured houses and buildings dotted all around the city. Jaipur is considered to be one of the most planned cities of its time; founded in 1727 AD by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II Jaipur serves as the capital of royal state of Rajasthan. Have your sumptuous breakfast on the Palace on Wheels luxury train and get off at Jaipur at 08.00 hrs at Jaipur railway station. You will be received with Garland and Shehnai (Music).Drive in an air conditioned luxury coach to the city and visit the famous monuments of Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), City Palace – former home to the royal family and Jantar Mantar Observatory – the largest observatory. Spend some time shopping in Jaipur. Jaipur is a world renowned place to buy high quality precious and semi precious stones, textiles, handicrafts, jewels and carpets etc. Later enjoy decorated elephant ride from the foothill of Amer Fort to reach the top of the hill where the fort is situated. As the Palace on Wheels arrives at Sawai Madhopur in the morning we depart for Ranthambore National Park to enjoy tiger watching activities in the jungle by jeep. Ranthambore also has a 10th century fort. The rich flora and fauna of Ranthambore makes it the best wildlife reserve and national park in India and a famous spot for watching the ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’ in its natural habitat. After finishing the jungle ride return to your luxury train ‘Palace on Wheels’ and continue to the journey towards next destination Chittorgarh. Watch the beautiful countryside as you look outside from the window of your luxurious cabin. Lunch will be on board the luxury train and then reach Chittorgarh at around 16.00 hrs. The fort of Chittorgarh tells us the tales of great heroism, sacrifice, love and velour. Witness the beautiful ‘Light & Sound Show’ programme at the fort then return back to the luxury wheels. You will enjoy a luxurious dinner onboard as the train departs for Udaipur.

Arrive in the most ‘Romantic city’ of Udaipur and after breakfast depart to the city for a sightseeing tour. Visit Sahelion Ki Bari (Garden of Virgins), Crystal Gallery and City Palace museum. Lunch will be at the beautiful heritage (palace) hotel, post lunch enjoy a picturesque boat trip on Lake Pichola around the beautiful Lake Palace and Jagmandir Island. We will reach Udaipur railway station by our air-conditioned coach at around 15.30 hrs and we depart for an overnight trip to Jaisalmer.

Wake up in the heart of Thar Desert as you arrive in Jaisalmer today. Breakfast will be served at around 07.30 hrs on ‘Palace on Wheels’. Later enjoy sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer visiting Gadsisar Lake, Sonar Quila (Fort) and Havelis or Mansions with their grand facades. In Jaisalmer the most famous havelis are Nathmalji-ki-Haveli, Patwon-ki-Haveli and Salim Singh-ki-Haveli which are the finest examples of the stone carver’s skill. Walk through the markets to shop for fine Pattu shawls and articles with beautiful mirror and embroidery work, wooden boxes, trinkets, silver jewellery and curios. Lunch you will be enjoying at any palace hotel. After lunch you can also take an exciting ride on ship of the desert the Camel on the sand dunes of Sam. Evening you can have a sip of tea/coffee on board. Thereafter, dinner and cultural programmes in a palace hotel at Jaisalmer will be arranged.

On day 6 morning arrival at Jodhpur city Founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 is the second largest city of Rajasthan and have many beautiful palaces and forts such as Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace – a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble, Rai Ka Bagh etc. Enjoy breakfast onboard then leave for sightseeing tour of Jodhpur in air conditioned luxury coach. Later take lunch in a five star hotel and then return to Palace on Wheels train to depart for next destination.

Arrive Bharatpur in the morning at 05.00 hrs and enjoy pre-breakfast into the beautiful Keoladeo Ghana bird sanctuary. A short trip inside the sanctuary will last for about 90 minutes and then we continue to Agra in luxury train Palace on Wheels. At around 10.30 hrs reach Agra station and visit the massive fort of Agra which is situated on the right bank of Yamuna River narrating the stories of great Mughal Empire. Lunch will be arranged at a 5 star hotel in Agra. Post lunch you have the most awaited moment when you will visit one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’ and the most beautiful monument Taj Mahal. You can also do some shopping as Agra is also well known for its impressive marble inlay work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, jewellery and leather goods. Later return back to the luxury train Palace on Wheels for dinner and return journey to Delhi.

Arrive around 04.00 hrs at Safdarjung Railway station in Delhi and relax on board. Breakfast will be served at 07.00 hrs on the luxury train and later at around 07.30 hrs it is time to check out or you can say bid farewell from the train.
