The Heritage of India tour begins as the train flags off from Mumbai and roll on to Aurangabad. The extraordinary rock cut caves of Ajanta is the first destination of the Maharaja's Express luxury train tour.

The beautiful rock cut caves of Ajanta are one of the most wonderful creations of human. The caves were made by using chisels and hammers only, in the 2nd century BC. Today the Ajanta caves stands excellent testimonial of extraordinary architectural genius of that time. The cave houses an array of Buddhist, Jain and Hindu temples famous for exquisite frescoes and carvings.
After finishing the tour drive back to Maharaja's Express luxury train for lunch and you spend an evening free for leisure. The Maharajas’ Express then proceed to the City of Lakes, Udaipur; which is the second destination of the tour. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Udaipur, commonly known as the most ‘Romantic city’ of Rajasthan has several architectural wonders, beautiful lakes, gardens and havelies.
We arrive in Udaipur and drive into the city in our air conditioned deluxe coach. The sightseeing tour of Udaipur will include City Palace Museum, boat ride on Lake Pichola, Jagdish temple and the colourful and busy markets of Udaipur. Optionally, the guests may also choose to visit ‘Vintage car Gallery’ or be a part of enthralling ‘Light & Sound Show’ that takes place in the palace.
The guest can have a royal lunch at Satkar Hall or Fateh Prakash Palace in the premises of City Palace. The guest can also take some spa fascilities at a 5 star hotel. This is the 8th day of your Heritage of India tour on the finest luxury train Maharaja's Express. Start the day with a visit to the most beautiful monument of love – Taj Mahal. This white marble wonder took about 23 years to build and 20,000 men labour put their hard work to finish this architectural masterpiece. A sumptuous breakfast will be arranged atop the Taj Khema restaurant. Later, you can return to the train for some leisure moments.
Lunch will be served on board the luxury train and then continue drive to Delhi where the journey comes to an end at around 1530 hrs at Safdarjang Railway station.
