Just an hour from Darjeeling, Kalimpong is often tagged along with Darjeeling by tourists. People also come here for a day tour. The valley overlooks the Teesta river with fascinating nurseries of exotic flowers all over. Kalimpong is rightly called the Land of Bengal's Beautiful Flowers as it full of nurseries that grow commercial flowers and these flower beds enhance the beauty of this valley, further.

The place was wrested by British rulers, later and further it became a part of Indian state West Bengal.
