Uttar Pradesh, the first most populated state and India’s fourth largest state in the area, is located in the north-central part of the country. Uttarakhand bounds the state on the north-west, Haryana and Delhi on the west, Rajasthan on the south-west, Madhya Pradesh on the south, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand on the south-east and Bihar on the east, and internationally, it shares its border with Nepal. The climate over here is tropical monsoon. The state is affected by three distinct seasons - winter from October to February, summer from March to mid-June, and the rainy season from June to September.

Languages spoken in the state are Hindi, Urdu, and English, along with the various dialects of Hindi. The capital city of the state is Lucknow, called the ‘City of Nawabs’. The holy river Ganga is the major river that flows through the state, and its right bank tributary is Yamuna. Uttar Pradesh carries several colors of faith, conviction, and history. There is one more tiger reserve, that is Pilibhit Tiger Reserve; both tiger reserves lie on the Indo-Nepal border. The state has three World Heritage Sites – Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri.
