The Transcendental Abode of Lord Krishna

Known as the birth place of Lord Krishna, Mathura is located in Uttar Pradesh. At a distance of 190 km (approx.) from Delhi, this is one of the most popular tourist destination in North India. Mathura, earlier was known as the capital Braj Bhoomi and was recognized as the capital of the Braj Bhoomi. A visit to Vrindavan will take you to those alleys and narrow lanes where Krishna had spent his childhood. The temples, the “Radhey-Radhey Chants” everywhere and the aura of devotion takes you to time immortal. It was here, where Krishna used to play his flute to mesmerize people and also played mischievous pranks on the girls of the village / Gopis. Shri Bankey Bihari ji Temple, Govind Dev Temple, Rangaji Temple, and the ISKCON Temple here worth a visit. An evening at the Rang Mandir is mesmerizing. One can also visit Gokul, Barsana and Goverdhan nearby, which are also associated with the legend of Lord Krishna

Holi in Mathura and Vrindavan, rather across the entire Braj Bhoomi is a weeklong festival of colours. Each day of the festival is designated for a different kind of Holi, like flower holi, dry colour “gulal” holi, kichad / mud holi, lath-maar holi and others. Braj Holi, Janmashtami and the Shri Bankey Bihari Festival are celebrated with great pomp and show and with sheer dedication to the deity.
