Itinerary

  • Day 01 : Arrival - Chennai

    After a traditional Indian welcome by Max Holidays company representative at the airport, you will be escorted to hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 02 : Chennai

    After breakfast we will proceed for a sightseeing of Chennai. Chennai is considered to be the gateway of South India and is 350 years old city which has, history, culture, temples and shrines, forts and palaces to offer to its visitors. Places of the interest are Fort St.George; it houses the Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly. Visit one of the oldest Anglican Church of 1680 AD. Also see San Thome Cathedral, the resting place of St. Thomas the Apostle who laid the foundation of Christianity in India in 52 AD. Later go to see the marvelous collection of bronze by the Cholas rulers (900-1155 AD). Kapaleshwara temple is a massive with intricately carved Gopuram towering into the sky. Evening return back hotel.

  • Day 03 : Chennai – Mahabalipuram

    After breakfast leave for temple tour of Mahabalipuram. Upon arrival in Mahabalipuram, check in your hotel. The town of Mahabalipuram has many Rathas built by the Pallavas King in 625-645 A.D. The five Rathas at Mahabalipuram are remarkable examples of rock cut architecture. They are named after five Pandava brothers, characters of great epic Mahabharata. The Dharamraja Ratha is the biggest in size. Visit Shore temple which was built by Narasimhavarman II (690-720 AD). It is built of bricks and stones. The structure of the Shore temple is similar to that of the Dharamraja Rath.

  • Day 04 : Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry

    Following a leisurely breakfast, we will drive to Pondicherry. Upon arrival in Pondicherry, check into your hotel After wash and change, we proceed for local sightseeing away from the hustle and bustle of big city, Puducherry is a quiet little town on the southern coast. If somebody looking for inner peace, it is the tranquil land that embodies spirituality. Here we will visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Botanical Garden, Mankula Vinayaka, Sri Vedapuriswar, and Kamatchiamman temples, Auroville, Ousteri lake, Gandhi Statue.

  • Day 05 : Pondicherry – Tanjore

    After breakfast drive to South Indian art and architecture centre Tanjavur..The Great temples built by Cholas (900-1155 AD) are now UNESCO World Heritage Monument are located in the vicinity of Tanjavur. On arrival check in hotel and rest of the day free to relax after long journey. Night stay at hotel.

  • Day 06 : Tanjore – Trichy

    After breakfast head to Trichy located on the banks of the Cauvery River. Trichy is a perfect combination of history, tradition and religion. After doing check in formalities at the hotel, we proceed to visit the massive Rock Fort temple which poses as the landmark of the city is situated on the shores of the Cauvery River. There is a spectacular view of the city from the temple. On the midway to the Rock fort is Thayumanaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Just 5 Km from Trichy is Srirangam, a temple town where 13th century temple complex with its 21 gopurams is set on an island in the river Cauvery. Evening back to hotel for night stay at Trichy.

  • Day 07 : Trichy – Madurai

    Morning head to Madurai the second largest city and the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu. The city is as old as 2500 Years and was the seat of learning during Sangam period. On arrival check in hotel.

  • Day 08 : Madurai

    After breakfast, we will visit Meenakshi Temple which appears like a fortified citadel. It is a double temple for it has two separate sanctuaries; one is dedicated to Shiva and other to Parvati. The outer wall is 258 Metres long and 220 Metres wide. The temple has a holy tank, large pillared halls and four lofty gateways called gopurams. As mentioned above, this temple has many pillared halls. One of its halls is known as the “Hall of Thousand Pillars”. Night stay at hotel.

  • Day 09 : Madurai – Periyar

    After early breakfast, we will head to Thekkady. On arrival in Thekkady, check in jungle resort. After wash and change, leave for boat cruise to view the jungle activities where you can spot elephants, wild boar, sambar, and deer coming on the shore of the Periyar Lake. If you are lucky enough then you can also spot tigers coming to quench his thirst. Periyar Lake is the life line for all the faunas dwelling in the park. The vegetation is mainly of the moist deciduous type which mainly composes of marshy grasslands. The main fun is to watch the herds of elephant bathing in the Periyar Lake. Full day free for jungle activities. Night stay at resort

    Optional : if the time permits you can also do Bamboo rafting at Periyar Tiger Reserve which is a thrilling experience, while in Periyar jungle. Or you may also do spice plantation tour where you will find the different spices used for Ayruveda, medicinal purposes, Kerala cuisine, non-Ayurvedic medicine and cosmetics are some which has significance of spice in Kerala.

  • Day 10 : Periyar – Munnar

    After breakfast, we will drive to Munnar a beautiful hill station filled with tea and spice plantation, which was once the summer retreat of the Britishers. On arrival in Munnar, check in to your resort.

    Remark: Evening you can enjoy visit to the Kolukumalai Tea estate. It is a home to the highest tea plantations in the world. Due to high altitude tea grown here has a special flavour and freshness. You can buy fresh packets from the outlet attached to the factory

  • Day 11 : Munnar

    After breakfast start the tour with Eravikulam National Park where will see the mountain goat (rare species) also called Nilgiri Tahr. Visit the Mattupetty Dam, bounded by the tea gardens, evergreen trees and Mattupetty lake, which adds to the beauty and serenity. Evening free to visit the old Munnar town and the local market. Night stay at the hotel in Munnar

  • Day 12 : Munnar – Cochin

    Following early breakfast, we will drive to Cochin known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea and, one of the finest natural harbours in the world. Upon arrival in Cochin, check into your hotel. Evening visit the Kathakali dance at Cochin. We will leave a lit earlier so that you can get the opportunity to view the artists doing make up and performing rituals before going ahead with the performance. Kathakali is a special art form, combining a unique blend of dance, drama, music, literature and painting.

  • Day 13 : Cochin

    After breakfast we proceed for sightseeing of Cochin, business capital of Kerala and is one of the fastest growing cities in India. Visit Fort Cochin Beach, Mattanchery, Jewish synagogue, Dutch palace, St Francis Xaviers Church, and Chinese fishing nets.

    Optional : you can also visit Kodanad Elephant Centre, here we will see the elephant bathing and playing, and feed them. Or you may also visit Athirapally Falls originate in the upper reaches of the Western Ghats. This area is a virgin rainforest, with many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna. Here, one can spend time at the beautiful waterfalls and enjoy the forest.

  • Day 14 : Cochin – Alleppey – Houseboat

    Morning after breakfast drive to Alleppey, where we will embark the deluxe air-conditioned private houseboat. The houseboat will make its way through paddy fields, canals and rivers, coconut trees. You can also do the fishing and the same will be cooked by your cook on board. Overnight stay at Houseboat

  • Day 15 : Houseboat – Alleppey – Kovalam

    After breakfast disembark from the houseboat at Alleppey and drive to Kovalam. Upon arrival, check in to hotel. Kovalam is known for its Ayurvedic treatments and tranquil beaches. Enjoy the day at leisure enjoying, walking, playing or just simply sun bathing at the beaches of Kovalam

  • Day 16 : Kovalam

    Day is at leisure to enjoy the spectacular beaches of Kovalam.

  • Day 17 : Kovalam- Trivandrum - Departure

    After breakfast, leave for Trivandrum, where if time permits we will visit the famous Padmanabhaswami Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu from outside (only the hindus with the specific dress are allowed). Later proceed to the Trivandrum airport to board your flight back home
