There is no other Indian state which has as many tribes as there are in Odisha. Tucked away on the east coast of the Indian subcontinent, Odisha is home to 62 different tribes which make up 24% of the state's population. These tribes live in the hill ranges of the Eastern Ghats. The tribal culture of Odisha is a major crowd-puller for tourists from all across the globe. Plus, the state has a number of ancient Hindu temples that are worth exploring. Later, get ready to visit centuries-old temples like the Parasurameshwar Temple, the Mukteshwar Temple, the Rajarani Temple and the Lingaraj Temple. They are known for their climbing and hunting skills. Next, get to meet with the people of the Desia Kondh tribe. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the weekly market of this tribe. Drive to Ankadelli where you'll come across with the Bonda tribes. Visit the weekly market to see these tribal people dressed in colourful costumes and ornaments. Interact with them before visiting another tribe called the Praja tribe which holds the biggest weekly market. After visiting the Jagannath Temple and the Koraput Tribal Museum, head to Gopalpur on Sea, an uncrowded beach where you can spend some time in solitude. Drive back to Bhubaneshwar, relax for sometime and then transfer to the airport so that you can travel back home.

Asia's largest brackish water lagoon with water spread ranging from 1165 sq km in the rainy season to 906 sq km in the dry season Chilka Lake nestled in the heart of the coastal Odisha (Orissa). Enjoy boating at the lake to spot the wild Asiatic Irrawaddy Dolphins at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal & Chilika Lake. Cross the lake by ferry to reach Taptapani where you will enjoy hot sulphur bath. Stay in a lodge here.
After breakfast drive to Rayagada. On the way visit Saura Tribal village. The Sauras are one of the most ancient tribes in Orissa mentioned in Hindu myths and classics, notably the purans. Saura men are marathon walkers. They are also expert climbers and hunters, with a habit of carrying an axe on one sholder. Saura villages are generally inaccessible, hidden in the folds of mountain and reached only by negotiating steep and zigzag path.
Depart for Dukum near Bisamkatak to visit weekly market of Desia Kondh. The Desia weekly market commence on Tuesday only. After visiting the market visit Dokra Crafts Village at Jhigidi. Return back to Rayagada for night stay.
The Dongarias are concentrated in Bisamkatak in the Niyamgiri Hills, and are very aggressive by nature. The Men sport long hair and wear a comb through the hair as an accessory. IN the morning after breakfast head to Chatikona to watch the interesting colourful weekly market of Dongriya Kondh Tribes which commence on Wednesday only. This tribe is one of the most primitive tribe of the Kondh's and they live in the high slopes of the Niyamagiri Hills. Later visit to Minapai bamboo craft village and drive to Jeypore for night stay.
After breakfast, drive to Ankadelli to visit the famous Bonda tribes. The weekly market commence on Thursday only. The local market of the tribes is a unique opportunity to see such a colorful concentration of typical Tribes at one place. Most interesting is to watch the Bonda woman in their colorful Jewelries and marketing commodities. They speak Remo, a dialect which has an affinity with the language of the Mundas of Asutro-Asiatic descent. The 'ringa', a 2 feet wide and long fabric, woven from the 'Kerang' plant and tied tied to their waist is their traditional costume. Heavy brass and aluminum collar necklaces and beads are vital accessories used by the Bonda women. Later drive back to Jeypore for night stay.
After breakfast, drive to Kunduli to visit the weekly market of Paraja tribes which commence on Friday only. It is the biggest market of the area. Then drive back to Jeypore. Overnight at Jeypore.
Morning after breakfast visit to Jagannath temple (non Hindus are allowed) & tribal museum at Koraput. Then drive to Rayagada enroute visiting Bada Paraja & Mali tribal villages. On arrival check in to the hotel at Rayagada for night stay.
