The Kondha or Kandha is the largest tribe demographically approximately is home to around one million people and live around districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Balangir and Boudh. The Santals, Saura and Bonda are other important tribes of Orissa.

Itinerary

  • Day 01 : Arrive Kolkata

  • Day 02 : Kolkata Sightseeing

    Early morning after breakfast take drive to cover the sights of Kolkata. Your sightseeing of Kolkata will include the most famous Victoria Memorial – a great example of European architectural style and also a worth visiting museum, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Paresnath Jain Temple, Kali Temple and Botanical Garden. Explore the local and nearby area. Back to hotel for night stay

  • Day 03 : Kolkata to Bhubaneshwar

    Early morning with the assistance of company representative you will be transferred to the airport to board the flight to reach Bhubaneshwar – capital city of Orissa. Bhubaneswar is popularly known as ‘Temple City of East’. Check in hotel and get freshen up. To start with the sightseeing of Bhubaneswar Lingraj Temple will be the first most fascinating sight in Bhubaneswar. Lingraj Temple is one of its own kind, being the oldest among the temples of Orissa, it quotes the best example of Orissan Architecture. Also visit Bindu Sarovar – one of the sacred pilgrimage centers, Kedareshwar Temple – one of the famous temples dedicated to Goddess Durga. Evening is free to explore the local market and people. Overnight stay is at the hotel at Bhubaneshwar.

  • Day 04 : Lalitagiri, Khandagiri and Udayagiri

    Early morning after breakfast get ready for the visit to the rich architectural relics of Lalitagiri, Khandagiri and Udayagiri. These Buddhist sites present an attractive and breathe holding view to its visitors. Start with Lalitagiri which portrays the life style of ancient time and people with its crafts and pottery. The next most important sight for you will be Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves, these twin caves have been beautifully carved out of the twin hills. The carvings here are simply marvellous; one cannot stop admiring the place. Evening is free at leisure, back to hotel for night stay.

  • Day 05 : Bhubaneshwar to Puri

    Early morning after breakfast, we head towards Konark which is 70 Kms from Bhubaneshwar. The beauty of Konark cannot be described in words. ‘Here the language of man is defeated by the language of stone’ – these are the words quoted by Rabindranath Tagore on Konark Sun Temple. It is because of its unique architect Konark has been enlisted in World Heritage Site. The stone here have hypnotic character and will hold you for long.

    Further head to the most pure and pious city and the city which holds an important image for Hindu’s in India – Puri. Puri offers many a thing from sea to temple, from dance to shop. Start the tour of this ancient city with the Jagannath Temple, which is famous for being one of the Dham among the four important Dhams of India. Enjoy life at thrilling beach of Puri and come back to hotel for night stay.

  • Day 06 : Puri to Gopalpur

    Early morning with a beach side view have a breakfast and head to Chilka Lake. Chilka Lake has a panoramic view to offer you. It is the largest mixed fresh and salt water lake in Asia. It is the resting place for guest birds during the month of December and March and it definitely adds to the beauty of Chilka Lake. Otherwise also Chilka is not a place to be missed out once you are in Orissa. Further we drive to Gopalpur. Gopalpur has got a suffix added to it ‘Gopalpur – on - sea’. You can enjoy the view of fish catching by the fisher man on the shores of Gopalpur beach. It is famous for its beaches and the Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna on the name of which it has got its name ‘Gopalpur’. Evening we enjoy the beach and relax in the hotel booked for you in Gopalpur.

  • Day 07 : Gopalpur to Raygada

    Early morning after breakfast take a drive towards Raygada. Raygada has got the good connectivity to visit the nearby places of interest. Here you can find the tribes in different and unique tribal outfit, there clothing style and ornaments make them different from others in India. The natural surrounding and atmosphere that Raygada has, gives a scenic view to the place. Enroute visit Langia Soura – a tribal village, get the view of tribal people from very close. Reach Raygada and visit Hathipathar – a boulder in the shape of elephant. It attracts a lot number of tourists towards itself. Evening we visit Kutia Kondh Tribe market. Back to hotel for an night stay

  • Day 08 : Raygada

    Early morning, after breakfast in the typical tribal surrounding, start your sightseeing tour of Raygada with Minajhola – a beautiful scenic spot and then drive towards Padampur an excursion from Raygada. Padampur is a tribal village famous for its Manikeshwar Shiv Temple. Back to hotel at Raygada for night stay.

  • Day 09 : Raygada to Jeypore

    Early morning after breakfast take a drive towards Jeypore. Reach Jeypore and check in hotel. Jeypore is the place blessed with all the beautiful natural view. Jeypore offers you hills, dams, lakes and many other attractions which has magnetic character to hold you for the day. Have a sightseeing of some of the ancient temples in Orissa like Kali Temple, Neelkantheswara temple and the Fort of Jeypore. Take a drive to the magnificent Kolab Dam and Machkund Dam. After the sightseeing of natural beauties in Jeypore, drive back to hotel for night stay

  • Day 10 : Excursion to Onkudelli

    Early morning take a drive towards Onkudelli which is a worth visiting excursion from Jeypore. Markets of Bonda, Gadaba and Didayee tribes are the attractive markets to offer you the typical tribal ornaments and souvenirs. Enjoy the natural beauty of the place and drive back to the Jeypore hotel. Night stay in the hotel

  • Day 11 : Jeypore to Visakhapatnam

    Early morning after leisurely breakfast in the last tribal destination of your tribal tour of Orissa drive towards Visakhapatnam the port city, famous with the suffix of ‘The Jewel of the East Cost’. This port city has a range of tourist attraction to offer you. Reach Visakhapatnam and check in hotel. After freshen up start the sightseeing of Visakhapatnam with Kailashagiri Park, at the top of the hill, enjoy rope way and circular train journey. Evening enjoy the Beach Road walk and view at Rushikonda Beach. Back to hotel for night stay

  • Day 12 : Visakhapatnam to Kolkata

    Early morning after breakfast enjoy the half day sightseeing tour of Visakhapatnam. Start with Rose Hill Church and also visit Simhachalam Temple dedicated to Lord Narshimha. Also cover Indira Gandhi Zoological Park. With the assistance of the representative of the company get transfer to the airport to board the flight to Kolkata.
