All across Himachal Pradesh, you'll notice a strong influence of the Tibetan culture. There are many Buddhist temples and monasteries in the state you would love to visit. Ladakh, on the other hand, is located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and is quite well-known for its rugged terrain and Buddhist pilgrimage sites. This tour combines the best of both places. After your arrival at the Delhi Airport or the Railway Station, get ready for a guided tour of Old and New Delhi. You'll find the contrast wonderful. On the one hand, you'll visit the monuments from the Mughal Period. On the other, you'll come across some of the finest examples of modern-day architecture. Key tourist attractions in Delhi include the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, the Raj Ghat, the Lotus Temple, the President's Palace etc. Get on board a train to reach Amritsar, the holiest pilgrimage site of the Sikh community. After enjoying an excursion to the Wagah Border, go on a sightseeing tour of Amritsar. Visit the Golden Temple and the Jallianwala Bagh. Proceed to Dharamsala, where the home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is located. After exploring the ancient Tibetan arts at the Norbulinga Institute, leave for Manali, one of India's finest hill stations. Soak up the views of the snow-capped mountains and visit multiple temples in Manali. Spend and enjoy your time in places like Tandi, Sarchu, Tsomoriri. After visiting many famous Buddhist monasteries in Leh and the Indus Valley, proceed to Alchi to see the Magnetic Hill. Spend time at the Alchi Gompa and the Phyang Monastery. Fly back to Delhi for a road journey to Agra, the 'City of the Taj'. While in Agra, immerse yourself in the heavenly beauty of the Taj Mahal. Explore the gigantic Agra Fort. Get back to Delhi to fly back home.

Itinerary

  • Day 01 : Arrive Delhi

    Welcome to Delhi ! As you arrive, you are greeted with a smile by our company representative who is your escort to take you to your pre-booked hotel in Delhi.

  • Day 02 : Delhi

    Today we take you through two contrasting parts of Delhi Old and New Delhi. In Old Delhi, visit the massive Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, the busiest market of Chandni Chowk. Afterward, we will move to New Delhi to visit UNESCO Heritage Site of Qutab Minar - the tallest stone tower and Humayun's Tomb. Your tour also includes drive past through the magnificent British architectural marvels such as the President's House, the famous landmark India Gate.

  • Day 03 : Amritsar

    Early morning, board superfast train from New Delhi station towards Amritsar – the most sacred places for Sikh community. Upon arrival, our representative will meet, assist and transfer you to hotel. Later leave for excursion to Wagah border which is located on the Indo-Pakistan border to see the ceremony of Beating Retreat and Change of Guard which make this place highly valued. Return back to the hotel.

  • Day 04 : Dharamsala

    Since ages, Golden Temple also known Sri Harmandir Sahib is the centre of attraction among Indians as well as Foreigners. It is acclaimed as one of the holiest sites of the Sikhs. Another place not to miss is Jallianwala bagh –where the heinous act of public massacre was done by the British Army. Continue journey to Dharamshala famous for its Tibetan culture, handicrafts and temples. Check into hotel. Rest of day free to relax at the hotel.

  • Day 05 : Dharamsala

    Proceed for city tour which includes Norbulinga Institute - established to preserve and teach the ancient Tibetan arts, McLeodganj which is today the residence of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, Dall Lake - Surrounded by high and green Deodar trees is the lake, Kangra Art Museum houses valley's arts, crafts, and rich past.

  • Day 06 : Manali

    Leave for Manali, a beautiful hill station that lies in the lap of the Himalayas. A snow-clad Manali is power-packed with amazing places to explore. Afternoon, reach Manali and check into the hotel. Spend rest of the time at leisure.

  • Day 07 : Manali

    Located in lovely wilderness and natural setting, visit Hadimba Temple. Next is Manu Temple - only temple in India dedicated to the creator of human race on earth, Club House, Tibetan Monasteries - There are 3 newly constructed colorful monasteries and other Tibetan handicrafts, Mountaineering Institute and Nehru Kund. If time permit, take a soft trek to Solang Valley.

  • Day 08 : Tandi

    Drive to Tandi via Rohtang pass (3980 M) for acclimatization purpose. Situated at the altitude of 2573 meters at the confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga River, Tandi is just 8 km short of Keylong. You may also trek to Kardang monastery (Easy walk to steep). It will take about 03-04 hrs for the hike

  • Day 09 : Sarchu

    From this day, we drive on Leh route and the road winds through extensive fields and long river of Bhaga. We stop at Darcha for Passport check. Continue drive to Sarchu via Baralachla pass 4883 Mtrs. Tonight our camp will be at an altitude of 4253 mtrs. and it will be the coldest night during the whole tour.

  • Day 10 : Tsomoriri

    Our journey takes you to Tsomoriri via Nakeela, Lachangla Pass (16,617 feet) & Skyangchu Thang (Biggest & Highest plateau in the world of around 42 km) and Pang. Admire the beautiful scenic journey on the Manali Leh Highway Cross the Tanglangla Pass and reach Tsomoriri in the evening. Night in the camp.

  • Day 11 : Tsomoriri Lake

    Today, we will trek to the inner Changthang area for about 05-06 hrs (one way) to reach Nomadic settlement. Tsomoriri is situated at an altitude of 4600 Mts and you can explore the area on foot for as long /short as you want. Night in the camp.

  • Day 12 : Leh

    Situated at an altitude 15000 Ft, visit Korzok Monastery early in the morning and later proceed to Leh via Mahe Bridge. En route, visit Chumthang hot water springs and travel through the scenic Indus Valley. If time permits you can visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace in Leh city.

  • Day 13 : Indus Valley

    Proceed for the sightseeing, covering a few ancient and well-known monasteries like Shey Gompa (built during the 17th century), situated around 15 kms from Leh, that include the Shey Palace and the Dresthang Gompa. Later visit Thiksey Gompa, one of the most beautiful ones. Now it is Hemis monastery, the richest one in Ladakh, founded in the early 17th century. Come back to Leh in the evening and relax at the hotel.

  • Day 14 : Alchi

    Continue your journey to Alchi. Enroute visit Magnetic Hill - Defying the Law of gravity. This place is close to the Gurdwara Shri Patthar Sahib, Later visit Basgo Fort - once the seat of power of a Namgyal family. Later visit, Likir Gompa, established around the 15th century. It is home to around 125 Lamas. Return to the camp for an overnight stay.

  • Day 15 : Lamayuru

    Early morning, enjoy beautiful drive to Lamayuru. Enroute, pay your visit to Alchi Gompa - One of its walls features thousands of miniature sized pictures of the Buddha. Reach Lamayuru and visit the oldest holy site in Ladakh “Lamayuru Gompa”. Later visit Ridzong which is most isolated monastery in Ladakh. Lastly, visit Chulichan Monasteries where around 20 Nuns still resides. Return to Alchi / Uletokpo for night stay.

  • Day 16 : Leh

    Today is your last day in Ladakh. After relaxed morning, drive back to Leh. Enroute you will visit Phyang Monastery which belongs to the red hat sect of Buddhism and Spituk monastery. Upon arrival, check into hotel. Day is free to stroll around Leh market.

  • Day 17 : Agra

    Fly to Delhi from where our journey was started. Upon arrival, meet our company's representative. Later you will be directly driven to Agra – famous for world renowned Taj Mahal. It is a place which no one can afford to miss while in India. Upon arrival visit Agra Fort - explained as walled splendid city built in 1566 to study the progress of Mughal structural design from red stones to white Marbles and Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb also known as "Baby Taj".

  • Day 18 : Agra

    Morning during sunrise, enjoy guided visit to the famed beautiful white marble monument known as a greatest expression of love ever built in world - Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). From a distance you may enjoy riding on a tonga (horse cart) to reach Taj. Later, drive back to Delhi. After freshen up, free time for independent activities.

  • Day 19 : Depart Delhi

    Morning on time transfer to Delhi International airport to board your flight for onward destination/ back home.
