An Insight into Hmuifang Tourism

Green hills and forests that have not yet been impacted by human habitation.

Another reason Hmuifang is well-known is because of the Thalfavang Kut festival, which the Mizoram Tourism Development organises. It offers a glimpse into Mizo culture by showcasing dances like Cheraw, Sawlakai, Siktuithiang lam, and Chheihlam. It is a destination full of opportunities for tourism and related ventures and a paradise for thrill seekers. Tourists can find numerous lovely resorts surrounded by nature with all the services they need.

The grassy areas at the peak are perfect for outdoor camping and picnics as well. From here, you can travel to the Mizo villages Hmuifang, Sumsuih, Lamchhip, and Charming to observe their typical rural way of life. These villages are located on the hillsides. But, any time of the year is a great time to visit Hmuifang because it has a great weather.

When visiting Hmuifang Tlang in the winter, it is lovely to see the emerald hills and foggy sky together. In the winter, one would need to bring some wool clothing, although, in the summer, cotton clothing would be sufficient. Plan your trip in the best weather, as mentioned in our Hmuifang tour guide, for a perfect trip.

There are many places to see in Hmuifang, which we will discuss further in this section of our Hmuifang travel guide.  The Chhimtuipui river, which flows through a valley and one of Myanmar's mountain ranges, can be seen on the way to Phawngpui. The route is also flanked by grassy slopes covered in pine trees, which gives the air a piney scent. These hills, which are scattered with quaint wooden cottages, are also covered with colourful seasonal flowers.

As you get closer to Phawngpui, which is located at an elevation of 2,157 metres, you could pause and have a stroll alongside the river. Blue Mountain, also known as Phawngpui, is believed to be the home of the gods. The Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park was built in 1992 and is located near the state's southern border. There are many different species of orchids, rhododendrons, and bamboo in the park's flower pattern.

The park is home to a variety of other animals, including the mountain goat, tiger, leopard, leopard cat, serow, goral, Asiatic black bear, stump-tailed macaque, and capped langur. Sunbirds, dark-rumped swifts, falcons, Blyth's tragopans, and Mrs. Hume's pheasants, the state bird of Mizoram, are among the diverse birdlife in this park. One could walk or take a vehicle to Sangau village, the last town before arriving at Phawngpui, to get a flavour of Mizo rural life.

One might be fortunate enough to see a goral, serow, sambar, leopard, hoolock gibbon, or common langur, or hear a barking deer on the journey. Mountain biking and trekking are two must-try excursions available at Hmuifang Tang. There is a reputable hill resort in Hmuifang Tlang that provides wonderful facilities and hill station activities.

Ensure to make reservations early to get accommodations. If you want to experience the fresh air, and lush vegetation, and explore the Hmuifang tourist attractions along with comfort and facilities too, then this hill resort is the perfect place for you.

All the modes of transportation to Hmuifang are listed here in our Hmuifang travel guide. The only airport in the state is Lingui Airport in Aizawl, which connects to Guwahati and Kolkata. From Lingui to Hmuifang Tlang, taxis are accessible. The closest rail station to Aizawl is Silchar, located 158 kilometres distant and has good transportation to Guwahati Railway Station. You can go from Silchar to Aizawl by bus or rent a Tata Sumo.

Here, it's challenging to find a decent restaurant. Eating at your guesthouse or bringing along packed meals is preferable.

The gorgeous scenery and stunning cliffs are simply spectacular in Hmuifang. The summit's many grassy hills are perfect for camping and picnics. There is also the option of trekking via the nearby villages that surround the summit. With the arrival of winter, savor hot coffee or tea, eat regional food, and watch spectacular mountain views. In Mizoram, Hmuifang is one location to explore with none other than the Hmuifang travel guide.
