Full day excursion to Ladakh famous monasteries, which are walled with inscribed prayers and religious figures. The enchanting echo of prayers in each and every monastery will touch your soul and calms you down. We will start with the prayers of Thiksey monastery in the morning. This monastery is 600 years old and one of the oldest and finest monastery. The monastery houses many temples, beautiful murals, books, painting and most attractive Buddha statue on the entrance. From here, continue drive to Hemis monastery founded in the 17th century, housing the fine scriptures and murals. This monastery is well decorated from all the sides, through which it holds some different attraction as compared to other monasteries. On the way back visit Shey Palace, which is constructed by one of the king of Tibet, and though it remained a residence of royal family till 16th century. It also have the museum consisting the artefacts, dresses, jewellery, weapons. Overnight is at hotel.
Morning proceed for a half day tour of Spituk situated on the hill top near Indus river. The monastery houses the huge statue of goddess, whose face remains covered during the year and uncovered during the festival time. There is also a collection of ancient masks, antique arms and fine thangkas. Visit Phyang Monastery famous for the traditional mask dance and museum housing the Chinese, Tibetan and Mongolian artifacts. Evening, we visit the Leh bazaar to enjoy the walks and buy souvenirs. Today we will drive to Alchi village, which is surrounded in the lush green grounds. Due to its location, it also has a importance due to its agriculture and famous for apricot trees. Other attraction of Alchi village is Alchi monastery and temple complex also called Choskor temple. The temple houses many small paintings of Buddha. However, now the monks have shifted the religion practice to the Likir monastery, but the Alchi have not lost its charm. You can also enjoy the local walks here offering many small shops and restaurants. Overnight is at hotel/Guest House.
After breakfast, drive towards Leh, where en route visit the Lamayuru monastery. Lamayuru holds its charm and magic due to its monastery which is believed to be the oldest monastery. It is built on the rock, so inside the monastery, you can see the caves, which are very well carved out and decorated. In the late afternoon, continue our drive to Leh. Overnight is at hotel.
Today we will visit the Stok Palace initially a monastery. This royal palace was built by one of the Tibetan king, and used as the home of royal family. Till today, it is a summer home of Member of Parliament. Little portion of the palace is converted into the museum which displays royal thangkas, dresses, weapons, coins etc. Rest of the day is at leisure for your independent activities.
In time, transfer to the airport to board flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport transfer to the hotel for rest and night stay.

Hello Sanya, hope you are doing great. It was such a wonderful trip and thanks to you for arranging it so well. Starting from arriving in Cochin till our departure, everything was so well organized. Exploring scenic places such an Munnar and Thekkady, staying on houseboat, spending time on white sand beaches was just few highlight of the trip. Our driver Ramesh is a down to earth person with so much of patience. We will definitely come back to India and in our wish list, next place would be visiting Ladakh on bike which I hope you do organize.
