Patna is also a potpourri of pilgrims as Buddhist, Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and people of other religions come here for their annual pilgrimage. Once can also head to places like Vaishali, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya, and Pawapuri, from Patna. The Sonepur Mela at Sonepur in Patna is a great experience. This mela or exhibition is a large cattle and animal fair, much like the Pushkar Cattle Fair of Rajasthan, is held on the on the confluence of river Ganges and Gandak., n the month of November. This fair attracts a large number of international tourists.
