  • Day 1 Arrival in Bodh Gaya, then sightseeing tour of Lord Buddha Temple

    Upon reaching Bodhgaya, proceed to your hotel and check-in. Later, enjoy your lunch and visit the Mahabodhi Temple, the Lord Buddha Temple. You can also explore other local attractions of Bodhgaya, such as the Bodhi Tree, where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and various Buddhist monasteries. The Mahabodhi Temple, constructed in the 6th century AD, is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for Buddhist pilgrims worldwide.

    Afterwards, return to Bodhgaya and spend the night at your hotel or in one of the nearby monasteries. Enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for the night, and soon we will continue with our Buddhist monastery tour.

  • Day 2 Bodhgaya to Dungeshwari Cave Temples

    After breakfast, explore the Dungeshwari Cave Temples, also called the Mahakala Caves, where Lord Buddha practised years of penance before moving on to Bodhgaya. Additionally, make sure to visit the Sujata Village Temple.

    Next, spend half a day meditating at any of the monasteries constructed by various nations, such as the Indosan Nipponji Temple, Tibetan Karma Temple, Thai Monastery, Namgyal Monastery, Bhutanese, Chinese Burmese, Vietnamese, Nepali Buddhist Monastery and Tamang, Daijokyo.

    From October to March, monks from Dharmshala journey to Bodhgaya to meditate in Buddhist Monasteries.Conclude the day with a heritage tour of Buddhist monasteries with dinner and a night's stay at a hotel or monastery in Bodhgaya.

  • Day 3 Bodhgaya to Rajgir then to Nalanda then to Patna

    Following breakfast, we shall journey towards Rajgir, an ancient capital of the Magadha Empire that holds great significance for Buddhists. The Vishwa Shanti Stupa, a colossal structure constructed by Japanese Buddhists on Ratnagiri Hill, showcases Buddha's four stages of life - birth, enlightenment, teaching, and death. Another site of interest is Griddhakuta (Vulture Peak), where Lord Buddha halted to preach. Remember to visit Venuvanaram and Bimbisar Prison.

    Spend some time in the nearby Buddhist monastery and practice meditation.

    Later, after lunch, we will head towards Nalanda to explore the Nalanda University Archaeological Complex. Upon wandering around the ruins, visit the Chinese Pagoda, Xuan Zang Memorial Hall.

    Our journey on the Buddhist monastery tour will continue toward Patna, where we will check in at our hotel. Stay overnight in Patna. Hence concluding our Buddhist monastery tour for the day.

  • Day 4 Patna to Vaishali & Local Sites, then to Kesaria Stupa

    Afterwards, proceed to Kushinagar, and on the way, stop by the Last Sermon Place of Lord Buddha in Vaishali. Continue to more Vaishali sights, including the Ashokan Pillar, Ananda Stupa, Abhishek Pushkaran, Buddha Stupas, Kutagar Shala Vihara, and more.

    Next, head to Kesaria to see the most significant ancient Buddhist stupa, Kesaria Stupa.

    Continue driving towards Kushinagar and check in to your hotel. Spend the evening at a monastery in Kushinagar. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel or monastery.

  • Day 5 Kushinagar to Mahaparinirvana Temple to Rambhar Stupa-Varanasi

    Following breakfast, explore the Mahaparinirvana Temple (where Buddha breathed his last), the remains of the Rambhar Stupa, also known as Mukutbandhan Maha chaitya (the place where Lord Buddha was cremated), and a stunning statue of the Reclining Buddha.

    Subsequently, proceed to Varanasi, check-in at your hotel, and spend the night at a hotel or a monastery in Varanasi.

  • Day 6 Varanasi, then a morning boat ride, then to Sarnath

    In the wee hours of the morning, experience the spiritual essence of Subah-e-Banaras in Varanasi as you take a serene boat ride during sunrise on the holy Ganges. Explore the various Ghats of Varanasi, each with its unique history and significance. Return to the hotel for breakfast.

    Post breakfast, depart on an exciting excursion to Sarnath. This is where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples at Deer Park (Rishipattana). Other local attractions in Sarnath include the Buddha Temples, Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Mulagandh Kuti Vihara, and the Archaeological Museum.

    In the evening, witness the beautiful rituals at the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple in Sarnath.

    Alternatively, indulge in a peaceful meditation session at one of the Buddhist monasteries near Sarnath. Hence exploring Buddhism and the monastic way. Enjoy a delicious dinner at your hotel/monastery in Varanasi and stay the night in the hotel.

  • Day 7 Departure from Varanasi

    After breakfast, head to Varanasi Cantt, Lal Bahadur Shastri, or Varanasi Airport. Railway Station to depart on your flight or train for your next destination with fond recollections of your sacred journey. Here your Buddhist monastery tour comes to an end.
