Kailash Yatra

Subsidy for Kailash Yatra provided by Govt

Each and every resident in India is accompanied with an ardent divinity for one deity or the other and on witnessing and simultaneously respecting this passionate piousness in the heart of these pilgrims, the Governments of varied selected states have decided to facilitate some religious organizations with an array of benefits. It is majorly focusing on freeing them from taxes and instead giving them certain subsidies with their amount differing from one region to another depending on the decision taken by their state’s respective ruling government. The subsidies are provided to the pilgrims who ardently participate in the divine journeys to the spiritual hubs such as the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra, Haj etc. and once they are done with their tour, they are given the subsidy  by their state’s Government. For the same, you shall have to fill up the Kailash Yatra subsidy application form and also, upload some documents and then after certain formalities if everything goes well as planned, you will be declared eligible for getting the subsidy amount by the Government.

Presently, this facility has been provided to some selected states. If you are planning to be a part of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2019 then, have a look at the list of these states along with the apt subsidy for Kailash Yatra amount facilitated by their government is showcased below:

  • Uttar Pradesh: Rs 1 Lac
  • Rajasthan: Rs 1 Lac
  • Haryana: Rs 50,000

  • Delhi: Rs 30,000
  • Madhya Pradesh: Rs 35,000
  • Karnataka: Rs 35,000
  • Chhattisgarh: Rs 25,000

For those who are the domiciles of Rajasthan who are seeking for the subsidy of Rs 1 lac by Rajasthan Government shall get the same once they are done with their Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Just in case, the number of pilgrims for this category extends beyond the threshold, then the Government might have to plan for a lottery system.

The Government of Chhattisgarh is not only indulged in providing the subsidies amounted to Rs. 25,000 to the Kailash Yatra participants, but apart from that it is also focusing on providing the free service to old pilgrims who are aged 60 years or above for travelling to varied pilgrimage sites located outside Chhattisgarh and this scheme was flagged off from December 04, 2012.

Mentioning about Delhi’s government, it is facilitating a subsidy of Rs 30,000 to the pilgrims who have passionately participated in the divinity filled journey to the Mount Kailash. A scheme named as Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana that was put forward by the Revenue Department was also approved by the cabinet under which there will be a free undertaking of a pilgrimage for the 1100 senior citizens who belong to the Assembly constituency each year.

People being a permanent resident of Karnataka who have lately participated in the Kailash Yatra can claim for a subsidy of Rs 35,000 from the Karnataka Government and that too within the three months of your journey’s completion. In order to apply for the same, you have to carry along the photocopies of some documents which include the application form, front as well as the back page of your passport, MEA Yatra completion certificate, list of the yatris who were present in your batch during the tour, blank cancelled cheque, ID Card that you might have received from MEA while travelling with them, self-attested affidavit, Manasarovar tickets etc.

Tamil Nadu’s government is going to give a total amount of Rs 50000 to the Kaila Yatra pilgrims belonging to Tamil Nadu that is divided as Rs 40000 for Kailash and the remaining Rs 10000 for Muktinath. Earlier there were a limited number of beneficiaries but on witnessing a positive response, the beneficiaries have now been doubled! It has also been uttered that soon after the introduction of this subsidy’s scheme for the Kailash Yatra pilgrims, more and more people have now started participating in this tour and thus, there is a drastic rise in the number of visitors to Kailash from Tamil Nadu.

The residents of Gujarat are eligible for the subsidy of Rs 20,000 and they can be eligible for the same if they apply for the subsidy through the application form within the three months of their trip’s completion.

Haryana facilitates a subsidy of Rs 50,000 to its permanent residents who are travelling to Mount Kailash. This scheme has been named as the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Scheme, 2016 and was commenced right from April, 2016 and thus, any of the devotee in the Kailash Yatra shall get the facility of subsidy by the government soon after this date. Either the financial assistance would be Rs 50,000 or half of your travel expenditure (depending on which one out of these two is lesser).

Earlier, the people of Uttarakhand who travelled to Mount Kailash were given a subsidy of Rs 25,000 by the Government of Uttarakhand but presently it has been increased to Rs 30,000 that is considered to be at par with the subsidy amount that is paid by Delhi Government as a subsidy to its citizens. However, majority of the pilgrims belonging to Uttarakhand are expressing their views on the same and thus, they utter that Uttarakhand’s govt. must increase the rate by two folds. Whereas other devotees believe that the facility of subsidy by the Government should be extended to other varied pilgrimages as well.

The subsidy for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Uttar Pradesh was earlier amounted to Rs 50,000, however as Yogi Adityanath took over the crown as UP’s new Chief Minister, he increased the subsidy’s amount and the final one now is Rs 1 lac similar to that of Rajasthan Government’s subsidy.

Not only the Mount Kailash, but they are also facilitated with a subsidy in case they are visiting the majorly prominent Sita Mandir in Sri Lanka, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Hinglaj Mata temple in Pakistan, as well as the Nankana Saheb Shrine (Sikh).
