Palace on Wheels

Taj MahalWelcome aboard the Palace on Wheels which is one of the most fascinating and enthralling train journey.It was used by the Mahrajas to travel from one place to another in royal manner. The Palace on Wheels takes you to some of the royal states of the past.It is a complete luxury on the wheels.It has luxurious cabins, wall to wall carpeting, a well stocked bar, two dining cars and a very personalized service in fact, almost everything that could compromise of heaven on earth for seven days!.

Day 01 : Board Palace on Wheels
Today you will be transferred from your hotel to the Safdarjug Railway station to begin your lifetime memorable journey on the Palace on Wheels.

Day 02 : Arrival at 02.00 hrs in Jaipur. Departure 19.30 hrs to Jaisalmer
The first destination of Palace on Wheels is Jaipur,the capital city of Rajasthan also known as the Pink City.You will be taken for sightseeing of the city by an air-conditioned coach.Visit Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storeyed building. Later visit to Amber Fort, where you can enjoy the elephant ride to ascend the fort.Right across the road from the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory built by the Sawai Jai Singh II. The Luxury coaches will take you back to Palace on Wheels around 6.30 pm. Dinner on Board.The train leaves for Jaisalmer.

Day 03 : Friday Arrival at 08.15 hrs in Jaisalmer. Departure at 23.00 hrs.to Jodhpur
Jaisalmer lies in the heart of the Thar Desert.This city was founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. The yellow sandstone gives an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. You can see a very fine work in stones in Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli which has a very grandeur facade. After lunch go for short excursion to camel safari at sam dunes .Enjoy the dinner and the cultural programmes at a hotel in Jaisalmer. The train leaves for Jodhpur at night.

Day 04 : Saturday Arrival at 07.00 hrs in Jodhpur. Departure at 15.30 hrs to Sawai Madhopur
Today morning the train arrives in Jodhpur.This is the second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D.The Mehrangarh fort stands at a height of 400 feet.The grand palaces within- Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive instances of architectural perfection. Near the fort complex lies Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble.After lunch at a royal Palace hotel, return to the Palace on Wheels.

Day 05 : Sunday Arrival at 04.00 hrs in Sawai Madhopur. Departure 10.30 hrs to Chittaurgarh
Today arrive early morning to Sawai Madhopur founded by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I.Once it was a hunting ground for the royal family.After breakfast you will be taken to the Ranthambhor National Park, where you can see the remains of 10th century fort. This national park is famous for the tigers.Besides tiger one can also view hyena, ratel, jackal and fox are among those constitutinUdaipurg the carnivorous population here. Upon return to the Palace on Wheels, you leave for Chittaurgarh.

Day 05 : Sunday Arrival 16.00 hrs.
Have your lunch on board. Arrive Chittaurgarh which was once the capital of Mewar.

Day 06 : Monday Departure at 05:30 hrs. from Chittaurgarh for Udaipur
Welcome to the lake city of Rajasthan , Udaipur. This city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, in the year 1559A.D.The magnificient Jag Niwas was once upon a time was the summer residence of the rulers has now been converted into a Lake Palace Hotel. Jag Mandir, another island on lake Pichola is worth visiting. After lunch a visit to City Palace is exhilarating.In the evening visit the crystal gallery. Later proceed to Bharatpur on board Palace on Wheels.

Day 07: Tuesday Arrival at 06.30hrs in Bharatpur. Departure 11.45 hrs for Agra
Today early morning you will arrive in Bharatpur which is famous for watching migratory birds.After having your breakfast visit to Keoladeo Ghana National Park where you can get an opportunity to view Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds.
Later leave for Fatehpur Sikri which was once the capital of Akbar. It has a very big palatial complex designed in the Mughal architecture. After lunch move on from the Red Fort and arrive at the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. After dinner on board and a good night’s sleep.

Day 08 : Wednesday Arrival 06.00hrs in Delhi
Arrive at Safdarjung Train Station, New Delhi at 6.00 hrs the next morning carrying back a lots of unforgettable memories of the past seven days which will keep lingereing in your mind.

The Palace On Wheels Tour Cost Includes:
Tariff is inclusive of travel/ catering/ conducted sightseeing/ entrance fee at monuments/ parks/ palaces/ cultural programs/ camel ride at Jaisalmer/ boat ride at Udaipur/ rickshaw ride at Bharatpur and for still cameras. Guest has to pay for video cameras, liquor, laundry and other items of personal nature.

Exclusive Charter for groups/conferences etc:
Companies can organise a "Business-cum-Pleasure" trip by chartering the truly luxurious Palace on Wheels for their conferences. Special deals are available for groups and charters.

For Indian Travelers:
Indian passengers can pay in equivalent Rupee (INR) amount, at the exchange rate prevalent at the time of payment.

Reservation:
• value at the time of confirming the booking.
• Remaining 50% of ticket value 65 days prior to departure.

Cancellation:
Cancellation must be advised by Fax/E-mail/Letter to Max Holidays India Pvt. Ltd.. On cancellation, refund will be made. Certain amount of the ticket value will be deducted as follows.

In case of FITs:
• 10% of ticket value 50% of ticket 60 days prior to departure.
• 25% of ticket value 40-59 days prior to departure.
• 100% of ticket value between less than 40 days prior to departure.


In case of Group and Charter:
• 20% of ticket value 65 days prior to departure.
• 100% of ticket value between 0 to 59 days prior to departure


No show/En route termination of tour/amendment:
• No Show: In case of No Show/Non-arrival of the guest no refund/adjustment in future
travel will be admissible.

• En route termination of tour: In case of termination of tour by the guest, no refund/adjustment for future travel will be admissible.
• Amendment: No charges will be levied for amended dates of tour of Palace on Wheels and amendment will be permitted once only subject to availability.

CHECK-IN TIME:
Reporting time is 4 PM at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station.

Pre-Post POW journey arrangements:
Max Holidays will make all your pre and post P.O.W journey arrangement in India at additional cost. Please write to us about such requirement of services well in advance so that we can arrange the same well in time.

Relevant Information:
• MEALS: The two restaurant cars, The Maharaja and The Maharani, serve a range of Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine. Menus are changed seasonally.
• CLIMATE: Varies from 8°C to 25°C between October to March.
• CLOTHING RECOMMENDED: Light tropical / light woolens.
• OTHER FACILITIES: Doctor on call at the next station. Money exchange facility/All credit cards accepted. Adequate safety and security arrangements. Complimentary mineral water on board the coach, during sightseeing and at hotels. Assistance for travel arrangements on completion of the tour.
